I have noticed many brides these days are moving away from the “traditional” traditions to a more modern version if not completely changing it. The cake topper has become something that all people look at during the reception. Brides today however have moved from the classic bride and groom to something more sleek and modern like a set of monogrammed letters. Some couples have brought in something that represents who they are as a couple. Cake toppers come in all different shapes and sizes and bring a unique quality to the cake. Instead of the traditonal bride and groom, try something more “uniquely traditional”!

Another spin on an old tradition is the use of pie instead of a wedding cake. This little change can bring a big change to the aesthetics of the reception. Having pie allows for the guests to have more choices in their delectable dessert options as well as brings something of family and warmth. An idea for a DIY wedding would be to have a baking party! A few days before the wedding, gather the forces (bridesmaids, family, friends, in-laws) to bake different pies for the reception. It will bring people together and allow the bride to have special time with those she loves rather than bouncing from one table to the next.

Be creative. The sky is the limit on the amount of creativity and imagination that can be “cooked”  into these fun and easy wedding ideas! These small changes will bring a big amount of fun, family, and warmth to a reception!

Be fun. Be fearless. Be you.

Love always,
