Farewell 2011, Bring on 2012!

General // No Comments

WOW! 2011 was an amazing year for us here at Always Planned. Here is a brief recap….

We Designed and Planned!  We helped 19 gorgeous couples plan and design their perfect wedding celebrations and/or fabulous rehearsal dinners.

We Moved!  We moved into a much larger studio with warehouse space – big enough for all of our decor, rentals, glassware and plenty of workspace for our floral division A Perfect Posy.  With our current client list for 2012 we may need more space!

We traveled!  We started the year off with a trip to Las Vegas for the Idea Factory.  Mallory and I traveled to a combined 5 Sandals Resorts and 1 Beaches Resort, and ended the year with a fun cabin trip to Asheville, NC to visit the Biltmore for Christmas – and it SNOWED while we were there!

We Grew!  We have had some great interns throughout the years and this year was no exception.  So it worked out perfectly that we add our latest intern Stephanie to the team as a permanent fixture!  We are still figuring out all of the details, but you will definitely see more of Stephanie.

We Gave!  This year we sponsored Christmas for 34 young girls from the Hope Hill Children’s Home.  What an amazing blessing it was to be a part of their Christmas celebration.  I will never forget those girls.  We have vowed to continue each year and will increase our donation/involvement as we continue to grow.

We Loved!  We loved every magical moment we had the honor to be a part of.   We laughed (almost) every day we were together, If you know us this will come as no surprise.  We genuinely love what we do and being able to do it together as a family and team.

CHEERS TO 2011 – may the good memories last a lifetime and the bad fade away like the pages in a calendar.

HIP, HIP, HOORAY it’s 2012!  We are excited, ecstatic and ever so ready for the new adventures ahead.  Bring on 2012!

Real Wedding-Laura and Jake

weddings // No Comments

From the moment Laura walked into our studio we fell in love with her… and then a couple weeks later we met Jake and realized she was marrying a gentleman who was just as precious as she was:-) Throughout the planning process we had a lot of fun (we even switched venues a couple of months out) and looked forward to Laura’s meetings where we knew if she was really excited or nervous about something she would be talking really, really fast:-) I’ll never forget the one day Jake stopped in by himself to book a suprise for Laura on their honeymoon and we fell in love with this couple even more.

The day of their wedding was a little rainy that morning, cleared up for pictures outside and then started sprinkling again for the send off , but it’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day and we wish them all the luck in the world! Check out the great group of vendors involved in the wedding of this special couple and the pictures taken by Amber Bridges Photography.

We got an email from Stacy a few months ago after she had become a little overwhelmed with the planning since she was living in California, but getting married here. Her sweet mother (who the whole AP team fell in love with) was helping her with a lot of it, but we came in and gave them all a little more peace of mind. The day was just as beautiful as the bride with perfect weather except for being a little warm:-) The ceremony was very traditional held at Crestwood Christian Church and from the reception followed at Keeneland where guests, family and bridal party danced the night away. Below are the vendors who made this day happen and some absolutely gorgeous pictures from Stacy and Chad’s wedding taken by the amazing SB Childs Photography.

The very first time I talked to Brittney, I knew she was going to be a lot of fun!  She had so many ideas and thoughts and she definitely needed someone to take all of her wonderful ideas and create the wedding day of her dreams.  I believe we did just that!

Brittney and Patrick have such a romantic love story – they met in the Lexington, KY airport!  While she called Kentucky her home, he was just traveling through.  Their eyes met and sparks flew!  This just makes me smile!  (I romanticize everything and especially airports.  I think back to the days when you actually got dressed up to fly and it was magical.)

Brittney and Patrick live in New York City and we began their planning over the phone.  A few quick trips to Lexington and their wedding day was here before we knew it.  It’s funny to look back on all of my notes from the many times we met and chatted over the phone and see how everything grew into the perfect celebration.

The Amazing List of  Wedding Professionals Used for Brittney and Patrick’s Wedding Day!

Could Brittney be any more gorgeous in this photo?!  She is totally feeling this whole white dress thing!  :)   I love it, you rock it Brit!

I love this image!  I think Brittney looks so confident and by showing a little leg under all of that tulle – totally a sexy bride!

This last image is my favorite!  I love that the bow shows their mutual respect for each other.  It feels like we are looking into someone’s most perfect moment.  I hope that Brittney and Patrick enjoyed their wedding as much as we enjoyed planning it and making it all happen.  Cheers to a happily ever after!

Anne and Chris!!

vendors, weddings // 2 Comments

I always love the very first wedding of the season!  Something about having the first wedding of the year under my belt gets me geared up and ready for the year.  ;)

Anne and Chris came to me a while ago.  I have loved getting to know them and seeing how special their relationship is.  Although Chris had little to do when it came to the design and details, it was obvious he just wanted to make Anne happy.  I just adore when a groom gets it.  ;)

Anne is such a beautiful bride and it helped that all of her bridesmaids were just as beautiful.  The pictures are gorgous, the venue was great and the weather was absolutely perfect!

WOW!  I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Brown Hotel in Louisville, KY and all I can think of is WOW!  OK – so you know I have much more to say than that. ;)

Jeri Stewart, Catering Manager, called me a few weeks ago and we finally were able to get together for lunch and a site tour.  What a treat she is!  She is so fun and energetic- I am looking forward to working with her and hopefully soon.  We had lunch at the J. Graham’s Cafe, home of the legendary KY Hot Brown!  It was oh so YUMMY!  We even treated ourselves to dessert and because I am on a bread pudding kick lately, I just had to try theirs.  It passed my test with flying colors!!

After lunch I got the grand tour.  The meeting and event rooms are nice and have an even better view of the city and river.  The treat of the tour was the Crystal Ballroom!!  This picture does not even do it justice.  This room is breathtaking to say the least.  Imagine your fabulous wedding, social event or corporate awards ceremony in this amazing ballroom!  I could go on and on…

Next are the guestrooms and suites.  While this hotel has some amazing history – it has been kept up very nicely.  The guestrooms are spacious and full of luxury amenities, the suites are even more impressive!

I can totally see my and my honey spending a night or two at this stunning hotel enjoying the amazing service, yummy food and the atmosphere of elegance.  Impressed!!

I just have to add The Brown Hotel to my Love-it file!!   You simply must check it out for yourself.  ;)
