Hey! My name is Stephanie Carlon and I’m so excited to be joining the Always Planned team as an intern this fall!!! I’m from right here in Lexington and I am beginning my third year at the University of Kentucky. I am studying Hospitality Management and Tourism at UK with the dream of making a career out of my love for planning and design!

Growing up, both of my parents worked in the customer service and entertainment industry and I was lucky enough to get to be the little kid running around backstage. Watching the details and passion that went into each of these amazing events, it inspired something in me. I knew from a very young age that I would love nothing more than to be able to work in this industry and help someone else to have their “Perfect Day”!

I feel so blessed that Rayna and Mallory have given me this opportunity to work with them and I can’t wait to learn so much! I’m so excited about working with such a sweet and amazing team! I can’t wait to see what is in store for me this semester and can’t wait to get to help create a beautiful experience for you all!

We got an email from Stacy a few months ago after she had become a little overwhelmed with the planning since she was living in California, but getting married here. Her sweet mother (who the whole AP team fell in love with) was helping her with a lot of it, but we came in and gave them all a little more peace of mind. The day was just as beautiful as the bride with perfect weather except for being a little warm:-) The ceremony was very traditional held at Crestwood Christian Church and from the reception followed at Keeneland where guests, family and bridal party danced the night away. Below are the vendors who made this day happen and some absolutely gorgeous pictures from Stacy and Chad’s wedding taken by the amazing SB Childs Photography.

Always Planned completed our first wedding of the season this past weekend and I must say it was absolutely fabulous. Everything was perfect from the gorgeous bride, the radiant mother of the bride, stunning decor by Perfect Posy, smoothly ran pictures by Bella Grace Studios, on-top-of-it service from the Lexington Country Club and amazing musical performance from the Mighty Kicks. Below is the link to catch a sneak peak of the pictures. More to come on this wonderful couple and wedding once we get all the pictures in the next few weeks:-)

I remember when I first started working for Always Planned a few years ago and Rayna told me that she was going to get me some business cards made with MY name on it. I acted all nonchalant about it so she didn’t think I was a big dork, but inside I was bursting with excitement. I called  everyone and told them that I was going to have my VERY OWN business cards!!! It seems so silly now thinking about it:-)

My very first business card!!!

In this day and age though, marketing and marketing materials are everything…. more important BRANDING is important. It makes everything look very professional when all of your marketing is cohesive and your brand (logo)  is on everything. This is how people know who you are! I was going through some old files and found it amazing how the Always Planned logo and marketing materials have gone through some changes over the years and I just wanted to show you how far we have come. Below are the business cards that followed my very first ones and show the transformation of our logo and quality of card. (I’ve even had a name change along the way:-)  We have have definitely improved!

Sentimental Gift for Dad

Uncategorized // No Comments

At Always Planned we are very sentimental when it comes to Daddys giving away their little girls. So…. I absolutely love this handkerchief I found on Etsy. This would be a great gift to give dad during those last few moments before that special walk down the aisle…. because believe me he is going to need it.

The Always Planned Rule

Uncategorized // No Comments

I am going to let you in on a little secret….. but don’t tell anyone!!

We have a secret “rule” here at Always Planned.

Our job is not complete until we hear the rave reviews from at least three key people at each wedding.

Here is how it works.

If we do not hear our bride say “My day was super fab!” or something like that. :) Her vendors saying – “WOW my day was so much better because you guys rock!” and we have to hear from either a guest, family member or a member of the bridal party – “Seriously the best wedding ever!”  These phrases, or something similar are what makes us love what we do.

We always go away from every wedding and ask our team – What can we do better?  How can we improve? and What time is it anyway?

In all seriousness we like to have fun, make your wedding day awesome and create life’s moments that will last a lifetime.

Looking forward to your wedding!

I am so excited to blog about this beautiful wedding!! The first time I met with Jamie I knew that I just had to help her with her wedding!  When she was describing the southern grace and Kentucky charm she wanted to portray to all of her guests, especially those from California.  After chatting with her I found out that she was busy living in LA and working on the movie Avatar – yes THE HUGE blockbuster movie!  EEK!!  So exciting and from then on I referred to her as Jamie my Avatar bride, lol!!

OK so here are the amazing details you have been waiting for!

This next photo is one of my all time favorites!  Something about men all dressed up and hanging out together…. not sure but I love it!!

The fabulously gorgeous Headley-Whitney Museum was chosen as their venue and DaRae and Friends as their caterer.  The food was to die for and I have found that I love shrimp and grits!  YUM!  Purdon’s Rentals provided us with a beautiful tent and all tables, chairs and linens while the guys at Bluegrass Beat did a wonderful job with uplighting and DJ.  All of the stunning flowers were provided by the uber talented Crist Creona!

All of these gorgeous images were from the very talented Harper Smith Photography based in Las Angeles, CA and New York, NY.

What a fantastic year for Always Planned!  Two wedding where we get to work with the amazingly talented ladies at Angela Anderson Photography!

Erin and Greg were married at the beautiful Barn at  Talon Winery in Lexington, KY on Thursday June 17, 2010 and it was hot!  Hot as in temperature and in style. :) Her florist Jeanie Gorrell did an amazing job with the flowers and Lundy’s Special Events did all of her linens and catering.  The food was amazing!

Erin was such a fun and relaxed bride who was ready to have a great time and get married. The pictures are beautiful!!  See for yourself!   Check out the full blog post over at www.Angela-Blog.com
